Dar es Salaam is Tanzania’s former capital and the largest city located in eastern Tanzania on a natural Indian Ocean harbour.
Due to it’s natural port, Dar es Salaam has an extensive Swahili history dating back to the Arab trading era.
The city has a selection of boutique hotels and international hotel chains. It is also a convenient hub for domestic and international travel, especially for visiting Zanzibar and Southern Tanzania.
