Nestling under acacia and wild fig trees on the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley is Loldia House, an old farmhouse located on one of the oldest ranches in the country which encompasses over 6,500 acres of land. Set in lawns and constructed around a courtyard, the house’s main archway frames a striking view of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot.
Accommodation is in 9 English styled rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom with showers and baths. One room in the cottage even has an outdoor bathroom. The dining room and the lounge are kept in an elegant colonial style with a cosy fire place, ideal for relaxing evenings after days full of adventure.
Guests can enjoy one of Africa’s great spectacles, as Loldia House is ideally located in close proximity to the flamingo lakes of Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria. Nakuru National Park also offers excellent game viewing, including amazing sightings of White and Black rhino, and is an ideal place for bird lovers. Boat trips can be organized on lake Naivasha as well as visits to Hell’s Gate National Park with its spectacular canyon, abundant wildlife and hot springs.
Our first visit to Loldia had such an impact on us that we decided to get married there. That was the purpose of this trip & an inspired choice it was…On a personal note the wedding was faultless, the setting was perfect & it was a truly unforgettable day!
Service, food and atmosphere was superb. The flamingos were a treat too and the sight of bird life on the lake in front of our cottage was an idyllic start to the day. Do not hesitate, start your Kenya holiday at Loldia House.
