Bateleur Camp

Situated on the western border of the Masai Mara National Game Reserve, Bateleur Camp is set on a private concession at the base of the Oloololo escarpment, just below the spot where ‘Out of Africa’s’ most famous scene was shot.

Overlooking the Mara plains, this luxury camp lies in the path of the annual Great Migration, considered to be one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles.

Bateleur Camp encompasses two intimate camps, each with 9 spacious and luxuriously furnished ensuite tents with shingle roofs, wooden doors and floors as well as private decks. The camp is designed in the romantic and classic safari style, with leather buttoned Chesterfield sofas and many beautifully hand-crafted artefacts. The main areas consist of a cosy lounge and sitting area with fireplaces and verandas, as well as a shaded swimming pool, shaded by a dense forest canopy offering endless views over the plains.

Our visit was truly beyond all dreams and expectations. We enjoyed both camps tremendously, the amazing hospitality, fabulous food and service. We were very lucky with the game drives.

It’s hard to start writing this mail; when the only thing I’d like to do is to pull out all the clichés of the world to describe what I feel: I’m totally in love with Bateleur Camp, and right now I miss my love so much! Despite the fact that I’m sitting under the palms by the Indian Ocean treated like a queen. Nothing helps. I miss my love desperately!
