Horse Riding Safaris
Originally the only means of transport, Kenya’s horse riding dates back to the first explorers of this vast and scenic region of Africa.
Nowadays, horse riding safaris are a unique way to enhance a safari – enabling guests to get up close and personal with wildlife, without affecting their behavior or intruding on their space. Experience the exhilaration of riding alongside a herd of zebra on the open plains, or quietly strolling past a family of grazing elephant.
Whether guests want to horse ride for just one morning, as an alternative activity to the usual game drive, or set off on a week-long mobile horse riding safari – Cheli & Peacock will listen to your requests and expectations in order to tailormake the ideal horse riding experience.
Using Kenya’s most experienced riding outfits, Cheli & Peacock will arrange your safari so that you are always supported by a crew of grooms, chefs, waiters and well-schooled horses, to ensure your maximum safety and comfort.
The ideal way to experience wildlife and areas off the beaten track, rides generally begin at dawn, returning to one’s lodge or mobile camp in time for a delicious breakfast. On a mobile horse riding safari (recommended for experienced riders only) you would spend approximately four to seven hours in the saddle per day, covering a distance of up to 30 miles – depending on local terrain, weather patterns and wildlife sightings.
